Sore Gums?  Read On!

If your gums are sore or bleeding you may need some relief.  There are many cures for gum disease and it is often not difficult to put a halt to this problem.

One of the most important cures for gum disease is to floss your teeth.  Once in the morning and again before you go to bed at night.  If you are only going to floss once a day, the time before bed is best.  Flossing is extremely crucial because when you simply brush your teeth you miss about 40% of tooth surfaces.

If you have a hard time flossing because your teeth are so close together you can buy dental floss made specifically for this problem.  There are electric flossers which make the job of flossing a cinch.

Make sure you are brushing your teeth for at least two minutes.  Most of us spend much less time than that when we brush and this can lead to gum disease.

Take a trip to the dentist at least twice a year.  When you have your teeth cleaned the tartar will be removed and this is a good way to avoid gum disease.

One of the many cures for gum disease is to use toothpaste that fights the problem.  If your toothpaste contains the ingredient sodium lauryl sulfate you may want to consider another brand.  SLS is used for really difficult cleaning jobs but it contributes to problems with the gums and makes you more likely to experience gum disease.

Many dentists recommend an electric toothbrush so that you can really get your teeth clean and avoid gum disease.

If you follow these tips you should be able to say good-bye to gum disease and hello to healthy gums and teeth.
