When bad breath hits home, what can you do? Are there really any cures for bad breath? What are the best cures for bad breath?
The best cures for bad breath are brushing and flossing everyday, regular visits to the dentist to have your teeth cleaned, tongue cleaning and drinking a lot of water. Besides these things, one of the best cures for bad breath is using a good mouthwash.
Your mouthwash will be effective if it has the ability to kill bacteria. These bacteria produce volatile sulfur compounds which actually cause bad breath.
Your mouthwash will also work well if it neutralizes the sulfur compounds. When a mouthwash decreases these compounds a person’s breath will improve.
If your mouthwash contains chlorine dioxide it will help with bad breath because it releases oxygen. The bacteria that cause bad breath would rather exist in an environment that does not contain oxygen. Chlorine dioxide also neutralizes the volatile sulfur compounds which the oral bacteria have created. This leads to a smaller concentration of the sulfur compounds which then results in breath that smells better.
Another of the many cures for bad breath is using a mouthwash that is an “antiseptic” type of mouthwash. This may not be quite as effective because an antiseptic type of mouthwash does not have a neutralizing effect on the volatile sulfur compounds. Antiseptic type mouthwashes also dry the mouth because they contain alcohol. A dry mouth can be another cause of bad breath.
