History on toothpaste

by admin on May 26, 2010

Maybe you had not even given it a thought that there’s actually history of toothpaste. This is an interesting article with some great facts about where toothpaste was used and derived from in different cultures and eras. There was a record of the earliest toothpaste in the 1870’s. The toothpaste that they used wasn’t that mint fresh toothpaste it was used with a concoction using burnt bread.  In the 19th century the history of toothpaste, moving the time up a notch, charcoal was all of the rage when it came to cleansing teeth as a replacement for toothpaste, in this era most tooth pastes were in a powder form.

What comes after 19? That would be 20, which is the century that we’ll be moving onto next. This is where the toothpaste had moved from a powder stage into a liquid and paste stage. Let’s try for toothpaste in the 90’s now, where they really started to upgrade their toothpaste. This was probably the year of technology when it came to toothpaste. They started using the ingredient Sodium Monofluorophosphate and adding things such as flavor and color to make it a little bit more fun and enjoyable.

Now we’ve slid right into the 21st century technology of toothpaste, no longer into the history of toothpaste. As you know, this is yet the most beneficial era of toothpaste and oral remedies around! Unlike Buddhists using goat’s milk to sweeten our breath, we have a wide variety of toothpaste options available in endless flavors, colors and formulas. Be thankful that we have the technology that we have!
